In those deep recessesWhere light is hard to findI have occasioned the dawningAs the sun begins to shine. Its rays chase off the darknessAnd puts my soul at easeIt gives me hope for livingIt humbles me to my kneesAnd in that light I hear a voiceThat pushes aside the coldAnd tenderly compels meAnd reaches my hand to hold.I've heard this voice so many timesWhen grief and stress come 'roundIt condemns me not nor harms meNor gives an uncertain sound. So many of us search for lightIn crevices deep and broadWhere life has taken downward turnsAnd trust speaks like a fraud. But if we're patient long enoughWhere shadows often roamThe Light will bring us safe and soundThe Light will bring us home!
